Piano Awards and Recognitions

Piano Guild, American College of Musicians:  15 years’ continuous participation in Guild Auditions from 2000 through 2014:

  • 2011: Received the Paderewski Award for ten continuous years of highest scores in auditions;
  • 2013: Received the Irl Allison Award as National Winner in the National Piano Playing Auditions for fifteen continuous years of highest scores in auditions; (completed the requirements for the five years of work in two)
  • 2014: Featured on cover picture and article in Piano Guild Magazine in Spring 2014, as one of the two National winners of the Irl Allison Award.

National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC):  12 years’ continuous “Superior” ratings in Federation Festival Auditions from 2002 through 2014 in the categories of Hymn Playing, Piano Solo, and Patriotic/Folk Music:

  • 2003: Received three 15-point Gold Cup Trophies in Hymn Playing, Piano Solo, and Patriotic/Folk Music
  • 2006: Received three 30-point Gold Cup Trophies in Hymn Playing, Piano Solo, and Patriotic/Folk Music
  • 2009: Received three 45-point Gold Cup Trophies in Hymn Playing, Piano Solo, and Patriotic/Folk Music
  • 2012: Received three 60-point Gold Cup Trophies in Hymn Playing, Piano Solo, and Patriotic/Folk Music
  • 2010: Received the Joyce Walsh Junior Disability Award; $1500
  • 2010: Received the Agnes Fowler Music for the Blind Performance Award; $195
  • 2016: Received the Hinda Honigman Award for the Blind (musician), 1st place, $800

  • 2004-2014: NEGTMA Auditions regional level winner every year since 2004, thus meeting qualifications to compete on Georgia state level auditions for GMTA

  • 2008:  Outstanding Performer (Conference Recitalist Second Alternate)

  • 2011:  Attended Master Class under Dr William DeVann in Columbus, GA

  • 2014:  GMTA Lower College Level Piano Auditions, “Award of Excellence”

2010:  Atlanta Music Club Co-Winner 2nd Place Student Category; $1000.

2011:  Northeast Georgia Music Teachers Sonatina Competition, First Prize Winner $100.

2011:  Junior Piano Recital May 20, 2011, at Lilburn First Baptist Church; Given as the “Music and Mercy” Benefit to raise money for relief of victims of the 2011 Tornadoes in Ringgold and other areas of north Georgia; Approximately $1500 raised for tornado relief; over $1500 raised.

2012:  Buford-Suwanee Federated Music Club High School Piano Festival Competition, First Prize

2012:  Gwinnett County Music Teachers Association Competition—$600 Second Prize

2012:  Champianos Competition—Second Place Medal for High School Piano Competition

2012:  Bob Jones University High School Arts Festival; Second Round National Piano Finalist

2012:  Senior Award, Music by Patti Studio, Piano.

2013:  Participant in the first annual Sacred Keyboard Festival sponsored by the Music & Worship Ministries of the Georgia Baptist Convention March 9, 2013.

2013:  Certificate of Recognition from City of Doraville, presented by Mayor Donna Pittman, in recognition of Patriotic performance given at installation ceremony to honor Dekalb County Police Officer of the Year (hosted by the Lions Clubs of north Georgia).

2014:  Senior Piano Recital June 21, 2014 at Berean Baptist Church.

2015:  Floride Dean Piano Award from the Georgia Federation of Music Clubs, based on music merit for blind musicians.

  • 2012:  First Place National Winner in National Organ competition November 2012
  • 2013:  Attended on Scholarship Summer Organ Camp

2015: Friends in Art Scholarship, Affiliate of the American Council of the Blind, offered for           achievement, talent, and excellence in the arts.

2016:  Hinda Honigman Award for the Blind (musician), 1st place, from the National Federation of Music Clubs. 

2019: Excellence in Music Award from Townsend School of Music, Mercer University

2019: Graduated with honors (Summa cum laude) with the degree of Bachelor of Music from Mercer University Macon, Townsend School of Music
