By Faith Not By Sight

"For we walk by faith, not by sight..." II Corinthians 5: 7
"That which is unseen...is eternal." II Corinthians 4: 18
Timothy Jones is an Atlanta pianist and organist who is passionate about his music, his mission, and his faith. He is also passionate about the grace of God, which is sufficient despite all obstacles--as it has proved to be for him, as a blind musician.
Recently graduated from Mercer University in Macon with a Bachelor of Music (Organ Performance) from the Townsend School of Music, Timothy studied under Dr. Jack Mitchener (organ) and Dr. Ian Altman (piano).
While in college in Macon, Timothy served as Organist and Assistant Pianist at Gilead Baptist Church in Macon, where he played for both Sunday services and the Wednesday night services. He was active in a number of student organizations at Mercer, including Mu Phi Epsilon, Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society, and Sigma Alpha Pi/National Society of Leadership and Success.
Now back in Atlanta, Timothy will be attending Georgia State University School of Music beginning Fall 2019 as he pursues a Master's Degree in Piano Pedagogy.
His heart's desire is to bless, inspire, and encourage others to rise above obstacles as they are swept up by the grandeur and majesty of great music into the joy of the Creator of Music.
Timothy’s signature verse has become “By faith, not by sight," expressing both his personal faith in God and his prayer that others may be inspired by God’s work in his life. To this end, he is joyfully ready to share with you his gift of music.

Timothy performs concerts or provides background music with programs designed for the event, whether it be a birthday, an anniversary, or a holiday (Valentine's, Christmas, Patriotic, seasonal). He also has an extensive and varied repertoire of classical and sacred music.
For Civic and Seniors' groups, he plays lively programs of well-loved oldies as well as more current selections. He likes to include a fun sing-a-long portion in these programs.
Now having completed his Bachelor of Music at Mercer, Timothy is eager to put his musical training and gifts to work in playing for church services, giving performances in public or private venues, and in filling the great need for instructors for blind students in piano or Braille music.
“When I hear really good musicians perform, they can make me imagine things through their music. My ultimate goal in my music is to do the same thing—to make people feel and imagine through my music things that will bring them joy, help them improve their lives, overcome their fears and hardships, and give them strength to have a better life.”
